THE LETTER

Updated: Nov 13

This letter is to ANYONE who is struggling to make a commitment to reading HIS WORD consistently……..but want to get into the power of HIS Word

It is For YOU, who find yourself battling procrastination, feeling stuck, or fearing that laziness might cause you to give up…….but yet you want to take that chance of trying again.

It is For YOU, who powerfully experienced HIS Grace and Favor upon yourself in the past, but the business of life got to you creating a gap…….…but you want to start again.

And finally For YOU, who is finding it so hard to give up that hidden desire which is a stumbling block preventing you from getting into HIS presence…….but yet you want to experience HIS grace and favor and forgiveness.

For it is written, “Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool." Isaiah 1:18

This is God's message of grace. It reassures us that no matter how severe our wrongdoings, God is always ready to forgive and transform us. The imagery of changing something as deeply stained as scarlet into something as pure as snow powerfully illustrates the completeness of God's forgiveness and the new beginning He offers to those who come to Him.

Dear Friends in Faith,

Greetings in the grace and peace of our Lord! Your longing to deepen your spiritual walk is a precious pursuit, filled with both challenge and profound reward. Let us not shy away from acknowledging the disruptions and flow of this sacred journey. Remember, even the most steadfast travelers encounter valleys along with their peaks.

Imagine your spiritual growth as scaling a majestic mountain. The trail may be difficult and the incline daunting, but each deliberate step, no matter how small, propels you toward the summit of divine understanding. Be encouraged to move at your own pace. What truly counts is your unwavering determination to advance, no matter the pace.

Here are some heartfelt suggestions to kindle your motivation and help you evade the quicksand of discouragement:

Set Small, Achievable Goals: Embrace the power of modest beginnings. Commit to reading a few verses or a chapter daily. The consistency of even a brief engagement with the Word can cultivate profound growth over time. You need not devour entire books in a single sitting; a few moments each day will suffice.

Create a Comfortable Routine: Carve out a sacred space and time where you can commune with the scriptures without distraction. Whether it’s the quiet of dawn or the stillness before sleep, make this your hallowed time, a cornerstone of your day.

Utilize Resources and Tools: Embrace the aids available to you—devotional guides, Bible apps, or audio scriptures. These tools can offer structure and vibrant context, making your journey through the Bible more engaging and enlightening.

Reflect and Journal: After your reading, pause to write down your reflections, questions, and insights. This practice not only deepens your understanding but also helps embed the teachings in your heart.

Seek Support and Community: Share your journey with a trusted friend, family member, or your church community. Engaging in discussions about what you’ve read can offer new perspectives and mutual encouragement.

Be Patient and Kind to Yourself: Accept that some days, the path will seem steeper than others. On such days, extend grace to yourself. Each dawn brings a fresh opportunity to reconnect with your spiritual aspirations.

Recall the empowering words of Philippians 4:13: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Lean into this promise, trusting in the strength and support that Christ provides.

Your spiritual journey is not a race to a destination but a pilgrimage rich with lessons and grace at every turn. Embrace each step with patience and humility, knowing that your time spent in reflection and scripture is drawing you ever nearer to the peace and wisdom you seek.

With heartfelt encouragement and blessings,
